Creating Site Collection to a specific content database in a web application (Any version of SharePoint 2003, 2007, 2010 and 2013)
There
are two ways available to create a site collection to the specific content
database.
1. Making a content database to offline
mode.
2. Changing the ‘Maximum number of sites that can be created in this database’in Content database settings to achieve the same. (Refer the
below screen shot).
3. Edit the above said setting and update with the current no.of
site collections which available in the content database.
4. Don’t modify the setting of content database where need to
create new site collection.
5. After that you can create a site collection to the specified
group.
